When I embarked on my journey at Dev Rel Uni, I knew I was in for an exciting and enriching experience. Initially, I had a limited understanding of Developer Relations, but the captivating name intrigued me. Little did I know that my time at DevRel Uni would exceed my expectations and provide me with profound insights into this dynamic field. Throughout the course, I had the privilege of learning from talented instructors who imparted invaluable knowledge and practical skills. Allow me to take you through the transformative sessions that left a lasting impact on me.
Developer Relations 101 with Bianca
The first lecture, led by Bianca, introduced us to the fundamental concepts of Developer Relations. She expertly guided us through building a DevRel program from scratch and equipped us with real-world strategies for securing resources. Bianca's wealth of experience in the field and her ability to share practical insights empowered us to develop effective engagement strategies. Her emphasis on the Developer First organization, which prioritizes developers' needs and feedback, and the Developer plus organization, which focuses on fostering collaboration across teams, expanded my understanding of how to create thriving developer communities.
Developer Relations and Content Creation with Francesco Ciulla
Francesco Ciulla's class was an eye-opener, as he shared his personal journey of acquiring a DevRel role through consistent content creation. He emphasized the importance of creating engaging content through platforms like YouTube, live sessions, and tutorials. Francesco's experiences served as a powerful inspiration, highlighting the impact of content creation in establishing credibility and connecting with the developer community. Through his guidance, we learned effective storytelling techniques and how to tailor content to different platforms and audiences. The hands-on exercises in content creation allowed us to apply what we learned and receive valuable feedback from both Francesco and our peers.

Working on a demo project during the session, and subsequently completing an assignment with the help of my teammates, was a valuable hands-on experience that solidified my understanding. Benjamin's expertise and his willingness to provide individual feedback helped us refine our demo projects to perfection.
How to Land Your First DevRel Role with Hassan El Mghari
Hassan El Mghari's session was a comprehensive guide on navigating the path to securing a DevRel role. He shared practical examples and personal anecdotes, offering a step-by-step breakdown of the process. From crafting an impactful resume and optimizing your online presence to acing interviews and building a personal brand, Hassan provided us with invaluable insights. His guidance on creating and sharing compelling content, participating in open-source projects, and actively engaging in the developer community equipped us with the necessary tools to stand out in a competitive job market. Hassan's generosity in sharing resources and his genuine desire to see us succeed left a lasting impression on me.
Events: Meetups, Hackathons, and Conferences with Facundo Giuliani
Facundo Giuliani's class enlightened us on the significance of organizing and participating in events aligned with an organization's purpose. Understanding the target audience and their needs played a crucial role in planning successful meetups, hackathons, and conferences. Facundo emphasized the importance of continuous learning and networking, reminding us not to be overwhelmed by the responsibilities but to embrace the opportunities to grow.
